What is PM-CARES FUND?
PM-CARES Fund is a public charitable trust under the name ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund). As the name suggests, this national fund is raised with the help of Indian citizens’ assistance for providing relief and overcome any emergency or distressful situations prevailing in the country.
Who are the members of the PM-CARES Fund Trust?
Prime Minister of India acts the Chairman of the trust.
The Defence Minister, Home Minister and Finance Minister together serve as the members of the trust.
What is the minimum donation limit of PM –CARES Fund?
The fund enables micro-donations which means you can contribute smallest of denominations towards this fund. In simple words, you can donate whatever amount you can afford.
Can a company claim the donation as a CSR expenditure?
Yes, any contribution made to the PM-CARES Fund shall qualify as CSR expenditure.
Is there any Income Tax exemptions?
Yes, your donations to the PM-CARES Fund will be 100% exempted under the section 80(G) of the Income Tax Act.
